OUR CLUB
Formed over forty years ago and now one of the largest archery clubs in Kent
About the club
Thanet Archery Club has been giving Thanet people the opportunity to partake in the sport of Archery for over 70 years. In those 70 years, the club has moved about the area shooting in Cliffsend, Broadstairs, Ramsgate and now at Ursuline College, Birchington-on-Sea and Manston Airport. During this time the membership has fluctuated but recently the membership has grown and the club is flourishing.
The club caters for all ages and abilities having been the starting point for several county target archers and even to National and International level. During the clubs existence it has catered for disabled archers, people with learning difficulties and sight impaired archers. We have links with TADSAD Archery (Thanet and District Sports Association for the Disabled) with a number of our members also members or volunteer helpers at TADSAD. Recently the club has a strong junior membership.
The club runs a myriad of novelty, internal, open and inter-club competitions and have, in the past, hosted county and UK record status shoots.
The club offers the opportunity to try target, clout and field archery and welcomes Archers using compound, recurve and longbows.
