Becoming a Member
You must have completed a recognised beginners course before you can join the club. We run beginners courses twice a year, if you are interested in taking up archery please see the Beginner's Course page.
We have several categories of membership:
- Full member
- Social Member
- Asscociate Member
Full Members: Pay both club fees and insurance fees and are shooting members of Thanet Archery Club.
Social Members: Pay club fees but do not shoot.
Associate members: Pay club fees but they are a member of another club which is deemed to be their 'Home Club'.
Membership Fees
Membership fees are collected in two parts. The club fee and the insurance fee.
The club fee is an annual fee payable each April
Seniors: £30
Juniors: £15
Insurance Fee
We offer several insurance options at Thanet Archery Club.
Option 1 - Club insurance (payable each April):
Seniors: £20
Juniors: £10
Option 2 - AGB, NFAS or BLBS (arranged indepenantly by the archer):
If you are a member of one of the above organisations you will be insured to shoot at the club providing you have proof of current membership.
Shooting Fees
Shooting fees are paid each time you shoot at the club. Visitors to the club are charged at twice the relevant shooting fee below.
Summer Programme (April - November):
Senior member - £2.00
Junior Member - £1.00
Winter programme (November - March):
Senior Member - £1.00
Junior Member - £0.50
Indoor Senior - £4.00
Indoor Junior - £2.00
Consessions
A concession will be made in the insurance fee only. For disabled archers, the insurance will be reduced
by 50%. Proof of disablement registration required.
Junior Members
The Thanet Archery Club Constitution states that juniors shall be accepted from the age of ten years. If younger than twelve years it will be a condition of membership that (a) either their parents or parent are shooting members or (b) the committee will use its discretion for acceptance of membership.
