IMPORTANT - Club shooting times & insurance - PLEASE READ

Since we went independent of Archery GB in September 2021, we have used

Markel International as the clubs insurer. 

In the last few days we have had confirmation from them that our insurance requires "archery to be under the control of a suitably qualified instructor" at all times, and we will not be able to have that clause amended. This means that unless we have an instructor/coach on site archery may not take place.

Anyone who shoots without an instructor present will not be insured.

Sadly the consequence of this is that until the issue is resolved, we cannot at this time continue to offer unrestricted use of our archery ranges at any time in daylight hours. It also means that lone shooting is suspended until further notice.

One of our coaches MUST be present at any time that a club member is shooting. For obvious reasons, we cannot guarantee availability of a coach at any hour of the day, so we will only be guaranteeing that during club shoot days/times.

Just to remind everyone when those dates times are:-

• Saturday: 10am - 4pm

• Sunday: 10am - 2pm

• Tuesday - Thursday: 3pm - 7pm

Some of the coaching team may be available on site at other times, but they will post on the WhatsApp group as and when those opportunities will be. Below is the (almost) full list of names of the coaching team so you'll know who to look out for.

We don't like having to do this and ask that you bear with us as we seek to resolve this issue as soon as we can. We hope to get back to enjoying unlimited access to archery at the club in the near future.

In the meantime it is essential that all club members adhere to these temporary restrictions.
